Completely captivating - I nearly went cross-eyed a couple times.
I adore a book that can grab me so tightly with the first book, it nearly makes me dizzy. The first chapters make my head spin, and I'm completely lost to the story within the pages. The Infinity Gene is definitely one of those books, and has shot to the top section of my favorite reads for this year.
Packed with action, danger, and just enough heat to melt it all together, this story is perfect. Aeris is a unique creature, and her sense of humor was entertaining. With a personality anyone can relate to and appreciate, she is a great heroine to follow, showing strength and determination in situations that had me biting my nails and gripping the blanket I kept hiding under as I read.
The other characters in the book - Hunter and Gage especially - added great spices to the story. The two of them shared a mutual dislike for one another that added tension and depth. Mixed in with the overall story of sci-fi labs and superhuman adventure, gave a well-balanced break to the softer, more personal issues Aeris went through.
Well written and set at a brisk pace, this book was over almost too quickly. Luckily there is a sequel to enjoy, and a final installment after that. This is a series I definitely want to finish, and would recommend to anyone who enjoys this genre.
