*3.5 Roses, but as Goodreads only rates in full stars, I've rounded up - it's closer to a 4 than a 3.*

Rated R

Generational Sociopathy with A Splash of Schizophrenia.

This story has all the makings of a great psychological thriller. The relatable family of average, normal people; a monster lurking behind a pocket protector; and a well-hidden crime, that in the end, comes full circle. While this story changes points of view several times, the overall plot Fate has in store for each person involved, stays fairly clear.

I enjoyed the writing style, with the quick glimpses at the mental workings of various characters. Inner thoughts and musings are shown along side actual dialogue, providing a broader picture of the scenarios. I appreciate the depth this writing approach gives a story, especially a psychological ringer like this one.

My only complaint, really, was the editing and lack of polishing. It somewhat seems like a first or perhaps second draft, although I'm not sure. What I do know, is it is riddled with both grammatical spelling, and general foundation errors, which causes a bit of confusion in many spots. It needs to be finished, and once it is, would be a solid 4-star story.

Overall, this was a captivating story, and having read it in October, made it even more enjoyable. It is perfect for the Halloween season, and is a story I would recommend to others who enjoy thrillers for the spooky season.

*I was given a complimentary eCopy of this novel, from the author, to read in exchange for my honest review.
